During his resurrection, the viewer is taken down memory lane on a cruise down the Nile that ends in Cairo, where a complete transformation into Queen Nefertiti’s look-alike is accomplished. Ofra Haza, the Madonna of the East follows them closely and helps them in their search for the key to life, Ankh, the afterlife. Ankh is a travelogue through ancient Egypt and makes the beautiful soundtrack (music by Gravity Noir) come to life. Ankh has won more than 30 international film awards and is well received by the LGBTQ+ community.

Escaramuza: Riding from the Heart

Every weekend, at rodeos from Illinois to California, teams of young Mexican American women—escaramuzas charras—climb onto sidesaddles and weave their galloping horses through high-speed ballets, as heart-stopping as the revolutionary-era skirmishes for which they’re named. The documentary follows one such team, Las Azaleas, on their quest to represent California and the United States at the National Charro Championships in Mexico, where to be Charro is to be Mexican.

Despite growing family obligations and drug violence in Mexico, these young women sacrifice their time, money and personal safety to keep centuries-old Charrería traditions alive in the United States.

America’s original rodeo, rooted in the cattle culture of Colonial Mexico, charreada blends the equestrian skills, handcrafted tack, costumes, music and food of that rich heritage into a living folk tradition. Between the men’s events, the young women perform their precision routines, bending and twisting their horses in intricate synchronized patterns.

The film follows Las Azaleas as they rigorously train to compete in Mexico. At home, these California and U.S. champions pass on their traditions to the next generation of brothers and sisters, sons and daughters. In Mexico, competing against the best of the best, they must come to terms with their complicated relationship to the culture they love but live only at a distance.

This transgender woman’s incredible story is funny, heartbreaking and ultimately life-affirming. It chronicles her experiences as a child, adolescent and adult struggling to understand and express who she really was at a time when there was no real acceptance of transgender people in mainstream culture. The film follows her return to the stage after a twenty-three-year absence, playing Aunt Eller in a gender-bending production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Oklahoma! at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Forest stories — research film about how contact with the forest can affect one’s sense of self and quality of life. It covers the stories of 10 very different people: digital nomads, spiritual practitioners, shamans and scientists. All the collaborators underwent an inevitable transformation at some point in their lives where they realized that the forest is a full-fledged living organism and it’s crucial to build relationships with it. Events from childhood, creative interests, work tasks, intuition and destiny signs led them to a genuine contact with the forest and a new worldview. Forest stories conveys the state of interconnectivity and unity of all life on earth.

The filming took around a year in locations in Russia, Belarus and Turkey. The film tells the stories of 10 amazing people: IT entrepreneurs, spiritual guides, scientists and researchers.

We invited Ekaterina Piltenko, the director of the film Freedom and the 1st episode of the documentary series 50/50 (Power of the Wind episode), to take on the role of editing director.

Sometimes dreams are not as easy as they seem. These two brothers overcome adversities during 13 months in order to achieve theirs.
