Removal Policy
This Filmmaker & Product Removal Policy governs the removal, deactivation, or deletion of filmmaker accounts (“Vendors”) and products listed on VIMooZ Cinema (the “Platform”). This policy is incorporated into and forms part of the VIMooZ Cinema Terms of Service.
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Prevent future sales when requested or required
- Preserve historical transaction data
- Maintain financial and tax reporting integrity
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
VIMooZ Cinema is a transactional marketplace. As such, completed orders constitute legal financial records and must be retained.
2. Product Removal or Deactivation
2.1 Recommended Method
If a filmmaker wishes to remove a product (including films, digital rentals, DVDs, Blu-rays, merchandise, or other goods) from public sale, the recommended method is to:
- Change the product status to Draft, or
- Change the product status to Private, or
- Move the product to Trash (without permanent deletion)
These actions:
- Immediately prevent new purchases
- Remove the product from public visibility
- Preserve all historical order records
2.2 Permanent Deletion of Products
Permanent deletion of products that are associated with completed orders is strongly discouraged and may be denied by VIMooZ Cinema.
Even if a product is permanently deleted:
- Completed orders will remain in the system
- Product name, price, and tax data stored within the order record will not be removed
VIMooZ Cinema reserves the right to refuse permanent deletion requests where such deletion may impact accounting integrity, reporting accuracy, or legal compliance.
3. Filmmaker (Vendor) Account Removal
3.1 Vendor Role Revocation
If a filmmaker requests removal from the Platform, VIMooZ Cinema will:
- Remove the Vendor role
- Revoke selling privileges
- Disable access to the Filmmaker dashboard and storefront
- Prevent creation of new listings
3.2 Account Retention
The underlying user account will not be deleted if the account is associated with completed transactions.
Account retention is necessary to:
- Preserve order-to-vendor associations
- Maintain tax reporting accuracy
- Support year-end financial statements
- Comply with audit and regulatory requirements
Accordingly, filmmaker accounts are deactivated, not deleted.
4. Orders and Transaction Records
Completed orders represent legally binding financial transactions and are required for:
- Sales tax reporting and remittance
- Payment processor reconciliation
- Chargeback defense
- Customer service dispute resolution
- Federal and state tax compliance
For these reasons:
VIMooZ Cinema does not delete completed orders under any circumstances.
Order records will remain intact regardless of product or vendor status.
5. Data Retention
VIMooZ Cinema retains financial and transactional records in accordance with:
- Applicable federal tax laws
- State and local sales tax regulations
- Payment processor requirements
- Standard accounting and audit practices
Data may be retained for multiple years as required by law or operational necessity.
6. Platform Discretion
VIMooZ Cinema reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- Deny permanent deletion requests
- Maintain account or product records for compliance purposes
- Remove products or revoke vendor privileges for policy violations
Nothing in this policy obligates VIMooZ Cinema to delete financial or transactional records.
7. How to Submit a Removal Request
Filmmakers may submit removal or deactivation requests here.
Requests will be reviewed and processed in accordance with this policy.
8. Acknowledgment
By listing products or operating as a Vendor on VIMooZ Cinema, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Completed orders will be permanently retained
- Vendor accounts tied to financial transactions will be deactivated rather than deleted
- Product records associated with past transactions may be preserved
