Ankh introduces the audience to the lifelong partner (Luc Verlinden) and shows his hopeful Egyptian treasure-hunting adventure to find his deceased husband Patrick Knight (as himself) and accidentally brings him back to life. During his resurrection, the viewer is taken down memory lane on a cruise down the Nile that ends in Cairo, where a complete transformation into Queen Nefertiti’s look-alike is accomplished. Ofra Haza, the Madonna of the East follows them closely and helps them in their search for the key to life, Ankh, the afterlife. Ankh is a travelogue through ancient Egypt and makes the beautiful soundtrack (music by Gravity Noir) come to life. Ankh has won more than 30 international film awards and is well received by the LGBTQ+ community.

In the pandemic’s darkest hour, the family owners of a 144-year-old garden center must decide if they will grow on or go out of business. What happens next is remarkably inspiring.

During the 2020 Pandemic, you heard on the news the struggles that small businesses faced. “Growing Through COVID-19” gives you an intimate look inside what really happened.

This feature-length, independent documentary brings to life the dramatic story that a 144-year-old, family-run Garden Center endured. In March of 2020, the family seriously considered shutting down their business forever. With an original musical score and an abundance of beautiful plants throughout, the film shows how they quickly changed their business to adapt to the times and reopen. During the pandemic’s darkest hours, they helped thousands of new people try gardening for the first time and witness the grounding comfort and satisfaction they received from putting their hands in the dirt.

The Gauchos del Mar brothers perform an unprecedented expedition by foot with 35kgs+ on their backs during 53 days on the easternmost tip of Tierra del Fuego Province, a pristine area where no one lives. The brothers have the goal of surfing a world-class wave never ridden before at the Cape San Diego Lighthouse, the most easterly point. To get there they overcome heavy terrains, scarcity of food and harsh climate. With no communication whatsoever they document the region and decide to share their message of environmentalism, avoiding consumerism and living simply in order to protect Península Mitre forever!

Rebel Angel is a film about identity, love, dysfunctional families, despair, the redemptive power of art, and the long, relentless reach of mentorship. Rebel Angel paints a portrait of the evanescent cultural figure Ross Woodman (1922-2014), Jungian author Marion Woodman, and their extraordinary marriage. Ross played a key role in the ‘Regionalist’ art scene in London, Ontario in the 1960s which gave us many of Canada’s most significant artists from that period. Marion was first introduced to Jung’s thought by Ross before they were married in the late 1950s. He accompanied Marion through her journey as a pioneering Jungian analyst who is credited with bringing the Feminine into depth psychology. A champion of creative imagination, he was also an original interpreter of depth psychology in the context of his profound knowledge of world literature and religions, particularly the Baha’i faith. His generosity as a mentor, and his pure artistry as a lecturer on the poetry of Blake, Shelley and the Romantics made him unforgettable, life changing. Through the prism of Woodman’s deeply troubled life, the film maker explores the dynamic among, love, creativity and madness in movies, poetry and art.

“Stories of Perusalem” tells us about the resilience of Peruvians in the face of adversities such as terrorism, the economic crisis and corruption. “Miracle on Tarata Street” tells what happened to a group of friends who miraculously survived the 1992 terrorist attack on Tarata Street; “American Nightmare” immerses us in the life of Antonio, a humble person who in 1996 decided to change his destiny by illegally emigrating to the United States; “Rock Mountain” brings us closer to a talented musician who has empirically become an emblematic figure of the peruvian rock scene. Finally, in “Vultures” we will meet a group of performing artists and a visual artist determined to make us reflect on the peruvian political class.

Transcending Waves

The Gauchos del Mar brothers explore the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), a 700 hundred islands archipelago, aiming to unite and construct bridges through surfing and the ocean.

After the 1982 War, the islands have been a very delicate subject in the Southern Hemisphere. This project aims to bring peace and start building a relationship in between the inhabitants of the Islands and Argentina that have been distant for more than 35 years.

They find out that there are two local brothers who also surf and were also born after the conflict. They want to share some waves with them and make new friends as they usually do in their adventures, but the conflict seems to trespass generations.

They go on an expedition for 50 days immersed in the islands’ culture while searching for waves on foot, in a 4×4 truck, in inter-island planes and on a sailboat. They manage to explore uninhabited islands through a constant adverse climate and are surprised by the natural beauties that surround their coastlines, landscapes, and the local fauna.
